Light Your Way Parade

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), in partnership with Miracle on 7th Street, presents the 2019 “Light Your Way” Christmas Parade.

Holiday cheer will be on full display as Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, in partnership with
Miracle on 7th Street, presents the Light Your Way Christmas Parade in downtown Terre Haute.
The fourth annual parade kicks off 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.

The parade route will begin at 5th Street and Wabash Avenue, go east on Wabash and continue
until 9 1/2 Street. The area from 5th to 6th streets on Wabash Avenue is designated as a Sensory
Friendly Area for those with sounds and food sensitivities. Therefore, food items will not be
distributed in this one block area and no sounds will be used. However, parade participants can
hand out non-edible items.

The parade plans to showcase the community’s Christmas spirit with holiday lights illumination from the floats and marching bands filling the streets with the magical sounds of the season.
Among the parade participants are universities, colleges, high schools, churches, various
organizations, SMWC’s horses, and of course, Santa Claus.

The event is FREE and OPEN to the public.


Parade organizers, which include students from SMWC invite groups, organizations and businesses to participate in this community tradition. Up to 80 entries will be accepted. The entries must be family-friendly, contain lights and portray a Christmas theme.
