Miracle Christmas Tree Decorating Contest

The Christmas Tree Decorating Contest is a beloved tradition that brings together non-profit organizations from across the Wabash Valley to celebrate the holiday season with creativity, community spirit, and a touch of friendly competition. This festive contest is part of the annual Miracle holiday festival, transforming The Vigo County History Center into a winter wonderland filled with lights, music and holiday cheer.

How the Contest Works

Each participating non-profit organization receives a live evergreen tree, generously donated by Prospect Bank, along with a tree stand. Organizations are encouraged to decorate their trees with a unique theme that showcases their personality, mission, or holiday spirit.

The Miracle organizers are thrilled to announce the 2025 Christmas Tree Decorating Contest…with a twist! This year, the first eight non-profits to sign up will have one day (December 5th) from 10am to 3pm to decorate an artificial, pre-lit tree INDOORS at the Vigo County History Center!  The trees will be on display from Friday, December 5th, from 3:00 pm to 6:00pm and will remain on display through Saturday, December 20th, at 4:00 pm (during the Vigo County History Center’s normal hours of operation). This allows the hard work of the decorating team to be celebrated for their creativity, for more than just the Miracle event.

The contest is open to all non-profit organizations within the Wabash Valley.
